2019 Apprenticeship Awards

At SQS, we feel passionately and are committed to developing new talent within our business through our apprenticeship scheme. Our apprentices’ are trained, developed and progressed within our in-house training academy based at our Scratchwood depot.

Our apprenticeship scheme has now been running for four consecutive years and has produced experienced, valued members of the SQS family who can now share their experiences to mentor new starters and apprentice beginners.

We are proud to share in 2019 we have another set of successful candidates who have passed their apprentice programme.

The intense year long learning course has given the apprentices’ the opportunity to work on some of the most critical infrastructure projects in the UK. They have helped to deliver complete reinstatement solutions that protect the local environment and the communities we serve. The apprentices’ have achieved a level 2 NVQ diploma in highways maintenance as well as a good appreciation of highways maintenance practices.

One apprentice said:

“You hear about all the tasks in the classroom which is great, but to actually get ‘out there’ and experience everything first hand has been amazing.

 I’ve been able to work with some very knowledgeable teams from a range of professions involved with reinstatement and have been able to find what I love doing the most!”
