SQS were delighted to attend the recent ‘Alternative Ascot’ Race Night in support of WaterAid and Community Development in Africa. The event was held this year at the Best Western Homestead Court Hotel in Welwyn Garden City, and raised much needed funds for essential community development projects in both India and Africa.

As main sponsors of this annual fundraiser for more than a decade we are proud of the contribution our employees have made in support of the community development projects funded through the Race Nights. Peter Harris, Chair of the organising committee said:

The support we have received from SQS since the beginning has been fantastic. It has had a direct impact and improved the life chances, health and education of numerous individuals and families in impoverished communities

Sally Lambert, WaterAid Water Industry Partnership Manager said:

We would like to thank all the businesses, and especially SQS as a main sponsor, for their generous support at the ‘Alternative Ascot’ Race Night. The funds raised for WaterAid will help transform lives in the communities we work with in India. Together we can make clean water, decent toilets and good hygiene normal for everyone, everywhere, within a generation.

Projects supported this year include sanitation blocks, wells, tap-stands and school teacher accommodation.
