SQS is a leading utility solutions provider with over twenty five years experience.

We serve the electricity, gas, water, telecoms, Local Authority and commercial sectors in London, the Home Counties and the South East.

Founded in 1996 by Maurice and Katrina O’Connor, SQS is a family business that has evolved to offer a widening portfolio of utility services.

This includes excavation, engineering, replacement and civil works as well as first time reinstatement and highways maintenance services.

With a growing workforce of over 600 and an established reputation for excellent customer service and quality, our self-delivery model allows us to respond rapidly to the changing needs and demands of our customer.

Coupled with innovation, this provides a trusted and competitive service level that keeps our clients and their customers satisfied.

Our business is built around a sustainable self-delivery model that delivers excellence for clients and customers, keeps our people and customers safe, supports our growth, and protects the environment. The SQS group includes SQS (operations), QRS (recycling facility) and Commercial Plant Services (in-house plant and fleet).

We use the work management system, Ontrack, which was originally built by SQS before becoming a standalone business. Ontrack is fundamental to our operational delivery success.

I just wanted to pass on personally Affinity Water’s thanks for the outstanding work completed in record time on Barnet Hill since Sunday night. Over 600 Sq./M of consequential damage was reconstructed to the very highest of quality standards by your team on site lead superbly by Pat and the support of a dedicated team behind him.

SQS is a regular winner at the RoSPA Health and Safety Awards. We have achieved the Gold Award in the prestigious annual scheme run by the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) several times.

CCS Scheme

SQS has won a Gold Award in the Considerate Contractor Scheme run by the City of London on several occasions. This scheme recognises best practice in the construction industry that goes beyond statutory requirements.

NJUG Quality

SQS are delighted to have won the High Quality Award at the prestigious National Joint Utilities Group (NJUG) Awards ceremony that took place in the Houses of Parliament.

FORS Scheme

We currently hold Bronze Accreditation and are working towards Silver Accreditation with the Fleet Operator Recognition scheme (FORS) that promotes best practice for fleet vehicle operators across the UK.

BSI Certified

Each of our group companies is certificated to ISO 9001 Quality Management, ISO 14001 Environmental Management and ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety Management.
