Collaboration and working in partnerships with others is at the heart of our way of working. With decades of experience of working in both structured and informal alliances within the utility sector we have the capability to maximise client value through partnering and alliance delivery models.

We are working towards the new ISO 44001 standard for collaborative business relationships.

Innovation

We also adopt a partnering approach to research and development, working collaboratively with industry bodies, university graduates, product manufacturers and clients to bring high quality, environmentally friendly products to the market place.

For example, we are currently working with others to develop the use of waste plastics as a replacement material within hand-laid ‘black top’. This reduces the need for oil-based materials in the black top and recycles waste plastics away from landfill or the oceans. A double win for client and the environment.

Our partnering approach to research and development was recognised at the prestigious National Joint Utilities Group (NJUG) Awards ceremony that took place in the Houses of Parliament in November 2016.

We were delighted to be presented with the NJUG High Quality Award for the development of an instrument for recording reinstatement depth, jointly created with Oxford Plastic Ltd.
