Due to ever increasing works we are now looking for a HGV Technician to support the team.

Overall purpose of the job:

To ensure vehicles maintained within the SQS workshop are kept to a good roadworthy condition whilst ensuring all records are maintained and the working environment is safe.

 Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out preventative maintenance inspections (PMI).
  • Carry out MOT preparations.
  • Carry out emergency repairs and those identified from the Daily Check Sheets to all vehicles to ensure they are maintained in a roadworthy condition at all times.
  • Carry out planned maintenance, diagnostics & servicing to all vehicles, as per the manufacturer’s schedule or that of the company, where applicable.
  • Assist with roadside repairs where required, ensuring your own personal safety and that of other staff and members of the public at all times.
  • Complete all required work, statutory and regulatory records, as necessary.
  • Ensure that the Company tools and vehicle maintenance/repair facilities are kept in good working order and that they are repaired or replaced where necessary to further ensure safe working conditions at all times.
  • Carry out maintenance and/or repair to Company owned plant and equipment
  • Carry out minor repairs to hired vehicles, small plant and equipment, where necessary.
  • Carry out all general and reasonable work requests on behalf of the Company, where required.
  • Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) where appropriate
