Description

Due to ever increasing works we are now looking for the Trainer.

Overall purpose of the job:

Responsible for managing the full training cycle from identifying learning needs, design, delivery and evaluation for employees across the whole organisation. To drive performance and growth by ensuring that the learning and development needs of all employees are met to enable the successful and sustained delivery of organisational objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To co-ordinate the provision of all technical and safety training requirements to ensure that SQS are legally compliant.
  • Ensure all Employees and Sub-Contractors are 100% Compliant with CSCS Trade Cards & CPCS Plant Tickets.
  • To manage the delivery of all training and development needs in accordance with Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality (SHEQ) standards.
  • To work with managers, to identify key knowledge, skill and behavioural attributes required for all job roles.
  • To create, implement and co-ordinate training needs analysis procedure.
  • To update and maintain the HR Training database to ensure that all employee training and development details are recorded and valid e.g. driving licences, licences to operate and professional qualifications.
  • Ensure Induction programme is organised and delivered in a timely way for all new recruits.
  • Planning and Delivery
  • Ensure all training and development activity is delivered in harmony with the SQS culture i.e. The SQS Way.
  • Undertake an annual audit and cleanse of all training records.
  • Co-design, coordinate and enable managers, planners and trainers to deliver training sessions.
  • Provide on job training sessions for Management on agreed key skills and processes in line with external training providers e.g. how to manage people, how to conduct appraisals meetings etc., how to interview applicants.
  • Ensure all Mandatory in-house training is carried out as and when required either by self or agreed in house trainers.
  • To attend external meetings representing SQS with integrity and professionalism.
  • Agree strategic partnerships with providers, ensuring maximum proficiency from external training suppliers at minimum cost to company.
  • To be able to evaluate benefit of all training investments both in terms of the organisational capability and personal development.
  • Co-ordinate the allocation of training hours and claims from the CITB.
  • Create and maintain Training and Development policy.
  • Prepare training budgets for departments as part of the whole organisation budget.
  • Evaluate in-house and external trainer’s performances and the effectiveness of training programmes, providing recommendations for improvement.
  • Provide guidance on best methods for training e.g. classroom training, demonstrations, on-the-job training, meetings, conferences, and workshops.
  • Prepare in house employee surveys or internal communication on a needs basis.
  • Develop testing and evaluation procedures as part of the job function.
  • Ensure all applicants are qualified and technically competent and managers understand the importance of compliance with industry standards.

  • Undertake any other duties or project work which may be deemed appropriate and commensurate with the position.
  • Achieve effective daily management of work load including prioritisation of work, meetings or training, working flexibly according to staffing levels.
  • Develop the Training Academy into a self-sufficient operation within the Group.
