Paving the Road Ahead

SQS is extremely proud of the achievements of those involved in our recent Apprentice Scheme. We are delighted to announce that upon receipt of the final results following completion of the endpoint assessments we achieved a 100% pass rate which has exceeded the national average pass rate. Pictured is Nathan, a qualified skilled operative who recently passed his apprenticeship with SQS and is a valued member of the SQS team.

Following completion of the Apprenticeship, Nathan was put forward for and passed his HGV and is now the proud driver of one of our brand new grab lorries a Mercedes Arocs Euro 6 automatic 10.7 litre 32-ton grab loaders which have arrived with a host of new enhancements, Nathan is the envy of his colleagues.

Our new grab lorries, all sign written with our STAN & Mora principles, are fitted with robust safety features installed to prevent overhead cable strikes, additional road plate holders, and a unique storage facility designed for carrying all utility small tools wheelbarrows, marker tape, brooms shovels, etc. The Wacker cradle installed is also fully pneumatic to reduce the risk of injury to the operators. The vehicle is fitted with a 360 degree all-round web-based live camera system and alongside the underrun safety bar system. All of these enhancements are included to further support the safety of our colleagues and helps us to ensure we are doing our best to keep other road users safe.

Our current team of apprentices are working through the 2020/21 scheme, they are a motivated group and all looking forward to qualifying at the end of the program, we wish them all the best of luck.
